The GLCC School Grants Program The Gar
Lockrem Community Choir’s school grants program is a central pillar of our mission to support music education. We also
further that mission by performing quality choral concerts and through outreach efforts to local schools. We hope to add scholarship
funding to the list soon.
Our grants program is designed to support music education programs in grades K-12. This
year, we are hoping to provide grants to two local high school music programs.
Since obtaining 501(c)(3) non-profit
status in 2008, GLCC has distributed $1,000 in grant money. We hope to match or exceed that total amount in the grants we
will provide at the end of our current concert season in May 2012.
We will begin accepting applications for the
2012 grants on January 1, 2012.
Criteria used in selecting schools for GLCC grants include need, how the money
will be used, and the degree to which the GLCC grant will make a positive difference in the quality and long-term health of
the program.
